Duane (nicknamed “Wardo”) was one of the most dependable relievers in baseball during his 10-year Major League career. He holds the Blue Jays single season saves record (45 in 1993) and is a two-time World Series Champion (1992 and 1993). Over his career, Duane recorded 670 strikeouts and 121 saves and was an American League All-Star in 1993. Duane currently lives with his family in Las Vegas, but spends a great deal of time in Toronto assisting with the Blue Jays Baseball Academy.
Duane enjoys speaking with youth baseball organizations about: (1) pitching, (2) arm care and conditioning, and (3) what it takes to succeed at the highest level in baseball. Duane was first introduced to baseball in his hometown of Farmington, New Mexico and is passionate about giving back to youth baseball.
